A better electrical system than what the major rental companies put in their overpriced vehicles — and you deal directly with the owner who built it, not a rental desk.
Built for real road trips, not just weekends.
This is not a basic campervan thrown together with cheap gear. It's a properly built Toyota Hiace running the same proven off-grid system as our 4WD campers, in a format that's easier to drive, easier to live in, and far more practical for long trips.
You get a fixed bed bigger than queen with a thick mattress — no folding, no rearranging, no twenty minutes lost every night. You get a full off-grid power system that runs real appliances without you watching the battery. You get a complete outdoor setup that turns any stop into a comfortable camp. Everything is already done. Load your gear and drive.
Real trips. Real reviews.

Dorian's van was perfect for our trip — we travelled for 11 days from Perth to Esperance and didn't miss a thing. The equipment was ideal for getting away from civilisation and just enjoying nature. Dorian was also super helpful, sharing tips and proposing itineraries. I would book it again, 100% sure.

We had a fantastic trip from Perth down the coast to Esperance and back. The vehicle was great, with everything you need for an adventurous holiday. Dorian was very helpful and quick to reply to all questions leading up to the trip. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience hiring Dorian's vehicle through Camplify. Dorian was super responsive and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, which made everything really easy from start to finish. The vehicle was exactly as described — super clean, easy to set up and comfortable to drive.

Dorian built and configured this van himself.
Offgrid Campers WA isn't a fleet bought in bulk. Dorian has lived in Perth for over a decade and driven most of WA — the Voyager's interior, power system and kit are configured from real trips, not a supplier catalogue. He answers the phone, he hands you the keys, and he runs the 45-minute briefing himself. Twelve percent of bookings are people coming back.
The trips this van is made for.
- SOUTH-WEST
Perth → Margaret River → Albany
7–10 days, sealed end to end. Wineries, karri forest, the south-coast cliffs. The fixed bed wins this trip — no tent to pitch after a long drive.
- SOUTH COAST
Perth → Albany → Esperance
10–14 days, sealed end to end. Lucky Bay, the Recherche coast, true off-grid nights well away from powered sites. Exactly what the 300Ah system is for.
- CORAL COAST
Perth up the Coral Coast
Kalbarri, the turquoise water, long sealed coastal runs. Comfortable to drive, comfortable to live in for weeks at a time.
- NOT FOR

This is a 2WD campervan. No beach driving, no corrugated tracks, no deep gravel. If your trip needs that, you want a 4WD camper instead — same off-grid kit, more clearance.

The questions couples ask before booking.
Q.01 Do I need a 4WD for the south-west or south-coast loop?
No. Perth → Margaret River → Albany and Perth → Albany → Esperance are sealed end to end. The Voyager is a 2WD Toyota Hiace and handles both without issue. A 4WD only earns its keep on gravel access into parks like Karijini — the Voyager isn't rated for that, and we say so up front.
Q.02 How long can two people stay off-grid in the Voyager?
It runs a 300Ah lithium house battery, rooftop solar, and a 3000W inverter feeding an 85L fridge-freezer. In normal use — fridge running, lights, USB charging, one induction meal a day — that's 3 to 4 days off-grid before you'd need sun or a drive to top up. WA sun plus an hour or two of driving each day means you're effectively never out of power. Fridge-only camping stretches it past a week.
Q.03 Is there a daily setup like a rooftop tent?
No — that's the whole point of the Voyager. The bed is fixed and bigger than queen, made up and ready. You park, you sleep. No tent to pitch in coastal wind, no folding anything away in the morning. The 180° awning with full walls sets up in minutes when you want an outdoor room, and packs away just as fast.
Q.04 How does the Voyager compare to the 4-berth vans?
Same off-grid philosophy, different trip. The Voyager is couples-only: one fixed bed bigger than queen, no second sleeping zone, no nightly setup. The Niesie sleeps four with a queen inside plus an electric rooftop tent; the Abi sleeps four on a budget with a queen and swag. Two people who want the best bed and zero setup pick the Voyager; four travellers pick the Niesie or Abi.
Q.05 What does the daily rate actually include?
From $160/day with a 5-day minimum. Comprehensive insurance and bond per Camplify standards, the WA National Parks Pass already on the vehicle, 200 km/day averaged across the whole hire, the full kitchen and camp kit, the 180° awning with walls, and 24-hour roadside assistance on sealed roads. No hidden fees on top of the daily number.
Q.06 Where do I pick it up, and can I do a one-way?
Pickup and return are near Perth Airport. No one-way hires — the Voyager comes back to where it started. Dorian does the handover and a 45-minute briefing in person, so you leave knowing how every system works.
Fuel cost estimator
Roughly what you'll spend on fuel for a WA trip. Pick the camper, set the distance, drop in today's pump price. It's an estimate — real use depends on load, terrain, aircon, headwinds and how you drive.
Estimate only. Fleet averages: diesel ≈ 12.5 L/100km, petrol ≈ 14 L/100km — edit the L/100km if your route is heavy on gravel, hills or headwinds. Fuel is paid by you and is on top of the hire price and Camplify insurance.
