How booking works — plain version.
You deal with Dorian, the owner who built and runs the vans — not a rental desk. The booking and payment run through Camplify, and that's deliberate: it's what gives you the comprehensive insurance, NRMA roadside assistance, secure payment and verified reviews. Talk to us first, book protected second. No jargon, no surprises at handover.

Dorian. Not a desk, not a chatbot.
Offgrid Campers WA is owner-run by Dorian, who built and configured the Voyager and the Wanderer 4WDs himself and has driven most of WA. He answers the phone, approves your booking, hands you the keys and runs the briefing. (Our partner Johan hosts and hands over his own vehicles the same way.) Camplify is the secure plumbing behind the booking — the relationship is direct with us.
That's the honest pitch: ring or message before you book. We'll tell you straight if a van doesn't suit your route — that conversation saves more trips than any marketing page.
Five steps, fuel to keys.
-
Pick the vehicle
Browse the campervans or the 4WD campers. Each page has the real spec sheet, live availability and the honest off-road limits. Note the minimum hire — it varies by vehicle (2–5 days), it's on every page.
-
Talk to Dorian first
This is the bit most people skip and shouldn't. Ring 0422 428 584 or message us before you book — to check the van suits your route, hold dates informally, or sanity-check an itinerary. You're talking to the owner, not a call centre.
-
Request to book on Camplify
The booking itself runs through Camplify. You're not charged at this step — you pick dates and excess cover, see the full price breakdown, and hit "Request to Book". It comes to us to approve.
-
We approve, you pay
We confirm the van fits your trip and approve. More than 30 days out: 25% deposit now, the 75% balance auto-charged 30 days before pickup. Inside 30 days: paid in full. Pay promptly — Camplify releases an unpaid approved request after about 72 hours.
-
Pickup, briefing, go
Collect near Perth Airport. We do the handover in person with a 45-minute briefing on the vehicle, the power system and your route — then you're gone. Return it to the same place; no one-ways.
Us for the trip. Camplify for the safety net.
- TALK TO US — DIRECT
Advice, availability, the right van

Fuel cost estimator
Roughly what you'll spend on fuel for a WA trip. Pick the camper, set the distance, drop in today's pump price. It's an estimate — real use depends on load, terrain, aircon, headwinds and how you drive.
Estimate only. Fleet averages: diesel ≈ 12.5 L/100km, petrol ≈ 14 L/100km — edit the L/100km if your route is heavy on gravel, hills or headwinds. Fuel is paid by you and is on top of the hire price and Camplify insurance.
Verification — 15 minutes, do it early.
Domestic hirers: a valid driver's licence and the address on it, checked by a secure third-party service. If anything needs a second look, Camplify emails you with the exact next step.
International hirers: your home-country licence plus a passport copy, emailed for manual verification. Extra drivers can be added at pickup or via Camplify live chat. Tight on time? Camplify's verification line is 02 4075 2000, option 3 — but starting early means you never need it.
The questions before you commit.
Q.01 What's the minimum hire — I've seen 7 days quoted?
Ignore any "7 days" you've seen — that's out of date. The minimum varies by vehicle and date: it's as low as 2 days on some, up to 5 on others (the Voyager is 5). The exact minimum is stated on each vehicle's page and enforced at the Camplify checkout.
Q.02 Can I book directly with you instead of Camplify?
Talk to us directly any time — phone or the contact form — for advice, availability and route checks; that part is just us. The booking and payment itself goes through Camplify, on purpose: that's what gives you comprehensive insurance, NRMA roadside assistance, secure payment and verified reviews. We never hold your card; Camplify does the money so you're protected, not exposed.
Q.03 What does it actually cost in fees?
Three things on top of the daily rate, all shown before you pay: a one-off service fee of $100–$150 (vehicle-dependent, covers maintenance/prep), Camplify's booking fee (10.5% of the daily fee + paid extras, not the service fee), and your chosen Accident Excess Reduction (which includes 24/7 roadside). The WA National Parks Pass and 200 km/day (averaged across the hire) are already in the daily rate — no park fees, no booking or admin fees from us.
Q.04 When am I charged, and what if I'm slow to pay?
Nothing is charged when you request. After we approve: 25% deposit immediately and the 75% balance automatically 30 days before pickup (or paid in full if your trip is inside 30 days). If an approved request sits unpaid, Camplify auto-cancels it after roughly 72 hours and the dates reopen — so only request when you're ready to pay.
Q.05 I'm an international traveller — how hard is verification?
Straightforward, about 15 minutes, do it early. Camplify verifies every hirer to Australian Privacy standards. Domestic: a valid driver's licence plus the address on it. International: your home-country licence plus a passport copy, emailed for manual verification. Extra drivers can be added at pickup or via Camplify chat. Don't leave it to the last 48 hours — if you're tight, Camplify's verification line is 02 4075 2000 (option 3).
Q.06 Where and when do I pick up?
Near Perth Airport, Perth only — no one-way hires. Pickup and drop-off are 6:30 am–6:30 pm, 7 days, and we're flexible by arrangement if your flight lands awkwardly — just tell us in advance. International travellers flying into Perth can usually collect the same day.
Q.07 What about off-road and beach driving?
Sealed roads plus officially designated unsealed access (short gravel runs to approved campsites — the limit is on each vehicle page). No soft sand or 4WD-only tracks. Lucky Bay and Wharton Beach near Esperance are okay — the sand there is firm. Off-road bookings also complete Camplify's Off-Road Checklist. Always clear your route with us first.
